Best place to stay in Roatan by far!
I’ve never met a man so invested in his properties like Mr. Foster. He’s is the most humblest man I have met so far. This man is up bright and early taking leaves off the sand and picking up trash from the cabanas. His employees are amazing as both of the receptionist were great and extremely accommodating. Johana the waitress works at the bar/restaurant right across the office was very nice and great at what she does.

Great views, nice people – right on West Bay
We stayed at Foster‘s West Bay in Cabana 4. I chose it because it had the highest reviews among the places that met my requirements – king bed, A/C, fridge and microwave, covered deck with view of the ocean, on West Bay, on a strict budget. The owner, Mr. Foster, is a very nice man who will help you in any way possible. He’s out sweeping the sand and watering the garden every morning – the grounds are beautiful. Everyone that works there was so friendly and helpful. Mr. Foster is Honduran and I liked supporting a locally owned business too. The resort is at the east end of West Bay, just before Caribe Tesoro. The room gave us everything we needed, at a very reasonable price for West Bay. The view was incredible. We had two full size lounge chairs on our covered deck, in a second floor cabana, with no hotel room underneath us. Also had a table and two chairs on the deck. With that said, it’s not fancy at all. This is not a Marriott. It’s an older building that needs some updates and repairs. Being an older place, there were not many electrical outlets and some were inconveniently located. Bring an extension cord. There were some cracked tiles on the floor. The front door lock took some jiggling to work sometimes. But there was daily maid service and it was always kept very clean. The bed was very comfortable, sheets were soft, always had hot water in the large shower, plenty of towels, and had no issues with bugs. There was a big, complimentary water dispenser and in-room safe. Mr. Foster and his staff were always available to help us at a moment’s notice with finding drivers or boat trips anywhere we wanted to go. We were always pleased with who they arranged. I had seen reviews about loud music at Fosters before we left. We didn’t experience that at all. The music at Sunset Hideaway (the restaurant on-site) was always great. However, there were a couple of evenings when there was very loud – too loud – amplified music at Caribe Tesoro. This was the only thing that marred our trip and not Foster‘s fault. We were in the very last cabana right next to Caribe Tesoro. We talked to people in other rooms and it didn’t seem to be an issue for those further away. We aren’t docking any points from our review of Fosters for the noise from a neighboring place – just something to be aware of if staying in Cabana 4. But really the views were incredible and so convenient to everything West Bay offers. If you know going in that this is not a new, fancy place, then it’s a wonderful option. Thank you Mr. Foster and everyone else we met there for the great stay!

18 Days at Foster‘s
My wife and I got back from our vacation in Roatan March 4,2019. We stayed at Foster‘s for the duration of our stay and was very happy that we did. We were greeted by Mr. Foster the night of our arrival with him giving us assurance that we would be well looked after and that if we had any issues that we were to contact the staff or himself directly and everything would be looked after. We did not have any issues and the staff was always smiling, friendly and accommodating. Foster‘s is located on the northern end of West Bay which we found to be a bonus due to Foster‘s location being less crowded than at the Infinity and the Grand Roatan Resorts. The beach front at Foster‘s is clean and sandy with 28 degree water and very clear. Every two or three days around 11:00 am (our snorkel time) the beach would get crowded with the Boat People when the cruise lines came into port(this is everywhere on the island)but by 2:00pm they all had to leave to get back to the ship and a lot of the time we found that we had the beach to ourselves. We would carry our fins and snorkels, take a ten minute walk down the beach to Mandy’s Ele Garden (the coral reef) in front of the grand Roatan and just a few meters from shore you were snorkelling in the reef. Clear water and hundreds of different fish to see. If you are a sunset person this is the spot. We had the upper Cabana Room 5, sat on our balcony and watched the most spectacular sunsets. How many pictures can you take of beautiful sunsets? Hundreds with every night different. There is also an upper balcony (crows nest) where we sat at night to get the evening breeze, sip back our drinks after a hard day on the beach. The room was spacious enough for the two of us. We requested a stove be installed in the room because of our extended stay and it was installed. The room was not a luxury accommodation (that was not what we were looking for on this vacation) but the beachfront room was cleaned daily with a change of linen and bathroom towels, the floor was washed and if we didn’t get to our dishes quick enough the girls washed them too. We found no creepy crawly bugs inside the room. The king size mattress was comfortable and clean. I found our room at Foster‘s was a great value for my money. To us Foster‘s felt like luxury camping with the bonfires on the beach just steps from the resorts Hideaway Restaurant. The beach bonfires was a great gathering place where we met so many people from all over.

I Will Be Back!
Foster‘s Bay is an amazing location with an awesome owner and staff. The beach and location are beyond perfect. Look/ask for Darcy on the beach and get your excursions and a connect on water taxi day and night from him. The rooms are like a spacious basic cottage with a fridge, microwave, sink and cutlery. This comes in handy for warming up leftovers and not wasting any food. The mattresses are very comfortable and everything is very clean. The towels are small and rough, so I would recommend bringing your own. Bring a lot of the mosquito coils both for the room and the patio. Yes the rooms have an awesome patio with a hammock that you won’t be able to resist hanging out there when the sun is setting which is prime mosquito time. Also bring a snorkelling mask and walk to the end of the beach to the reef and see amazing marine life. The information center on the beach sells local home cooked food, the lobster tail special on Mondays and Thursdays is awesome. Make sure to try the wings at the resort next door Caribe Del and have Baleadas for breakfast. This is an awesome property that’s great value for the price, extremely clean with amazing staff and owner. I will definitely return to Roatan and it will always be at Foster‘s.
